Corruption is a pervasive issue that undermines trust in government and institutions, while investigative journalism plays a crucial role in exposing and holding accountable those in power. This study examined the impact of investigative journalism on corruption, focusing on political office holders. The objective investigated the effectiveness of investigative journalism in uncovering corruption in political offices and its impact on promoting transparency and accountability. A quantitative research approach is employed, to analyze and examine case studies of some investigative journalism reports that have exposed corruption among political office holders. Through the lens of Watchdog, Agenda-setting and Democratic theories, the study revealed the vital role investigative journalism plays in exposing corruption, promoting transparency and accountability, and contributing to good governance. Furthermore, the research highlighted the significant challenges faced by investigative journalists, including threats, intimidation, and censorship. The study further encourages policymakers, journalists, and civil society organizations to support investigative journalism in the fight against corruption.
